Synopsis Eric Bishop of Manchester is a postman killed by his personal life. Since his second wife left him, is in charge of two teenagers and troubled, who with their irresponsibility will complicate life. The daughter from his first marriage was asked to take care of your baby, and this means that you have to do every day to his first wife, Lily, whom he abandoned for many years without any explanation, and which still in love.
One night in his room, watching a football poster of his idol, Eric Cantona, he wonders aloud how he could face conflicts if it were in place.

Travel
Eric feels overwhelmed and in despair, as well as driving the car out of control, lost control of his life. Given their apparent apathy, coworkers, while friends try to comfort him and when he discovered in a negligent attitude, not only do not judge you but help. In his dismay
invoked his idol, Cantona, who was credited with the voice of his "other-self, his" alter-ego. "
Cantona, a harsh and brilliant footballer of Manchester United now retired, he is trying to messages as they will face obstacles.

Eric is a man living the mistakes as a heavy burden, hindering progress in life. His alter-ego conveys that there are always more options that we just have to try. Nothing is final and see the mistakes and unintended effects but reversible, empowers us to take them as opportunities to apply our experience, and reconciles us with the unpredictability and uncertainty of life.

Eric, the voice of the other-I reveals that the feeling of loneliness is what leads to investigate on the interior to find the target. Eric discovers that communicate the truth of your feelings gives you a clarity and force. And when the need is to say "no", the authority gets to be felt is sufficient to say that it can be.

Eric appears to him the importance of trust in their peers, their friends, the people want, the need to take risks, to share problems to try to solve.
Once there, we dare to ask, to express what's wrong, what I need. Teamwork, friendship, complicity with whom I have at hand is developing as we're showing, and this requires taking the risk to be told "no." Invoking "I can not" ask for shame, pride ... it is just an excuse to avoid giving me a negative response, and this attitude makes me a state of isolation in which, indeed, do not give chance to reject me but do not let me experience that I want to help, I want to give.
In the film, the peer group collaboration is essential for Eric can handle the complicated and risky situation facing.
In life there are times that I can act alone and others that do not. The crux of the matter is to realize that we can not go out alone in the problems, we always need someone to help us. Another very different thing is that what you do, to resolve, is a case to make my own.

The Eric panic attack and gestures to the warnings of his father reveals the deep attachment he has with him. Failure to meet and review the destructive power that the opinion of his father is on it means that you do not own your life. We can exercise our own authority unsuitable to our identity. Eric suffers the consequences of leaving unfinished business and until we resolve it can not grab your life.
The key is to resolve, close and fire. Just listening to my inner voice I meet what I want, then close and it is available to any exchange. If I leave it pending, do not act according to what I live in the present, but what I was awakened by what I had in the past and left unfinished.

"Looking for Eric", with a friendly tone and sentimental, it shows the darkness of the suburbs where the temptation criminal threat, the infamous police brutality, and chronic loneliness families made pieces. And amid all this reveals the need for trust.
Lily, the first woman, to his way of doing things naturally, without artifice, means trust and security that you decide to have. And this real sorry to see it rooted in a hard life like yours.

is, ultimately, a heartwarming story that speaks of self acceptance and overcoming personal problems with the help of others, a witness against the individualism, and how a more cohesive group than the sum of its members.
As in football, teamwork prevails over the individuals.
